A major project has been
the provision of the
Take Heart Roof Garden

Take
Heart funded the creation of this garden on top of the Jubilee Building
at LGI. The
garden's proximity to the heart wards makes it a haven to be enjoyed
by patients, relatives and staff - a welcome break from the confines
of the wards with lovely views over the city

Ward
11
Take
Heart funded the overbed illuminated pictures, two new electric
beds and the Patient Waiting area. Equipment for the Cath Labs has
also been funded.

Patientline
TV

In
the Yorkshire Heart Centre at Leeds General Infirmary and St. James
Hospital where Patientline bedside television and telephone are
installed, channels BBC1, ITV1, BBC2, CH4 and CH5 are provided free
of charge courtesy of Take Heart.
Wards
5 and 7 in LGI
We
have funded the refurbishment of both relatives rooms and the fitting
of a new shower room. Bedheads, chairs and two specialist mattresses
have also been provided for the wards together with refurbishment
of the staff rooms in wards 5 and 7.

Relatives
Suite

This
Relatives Suite with lounge and bedroom has been provided where
relatives can stay free of charge when they need to be near loved
ones at a critical time

22
Electric Beds plus furnishings were provided by Take Heart for Wards
6, 7 and the Coronary Care Unit at St. James Hospital, Leeds

The
Zen Garden at LGI
Take
Heart funded the provision of the Zen Garden, based on a terraced
garden as used by the Buddhist monks around their temples. This
gives a much better outlook for patients in what was a drab, concrete
courtyard.

These
are just a few of the many projects funded by Take Heart. Our work
is never ending and the trustees will continue to ensure that money
raised will be used to fund suitable projects that meet patient’s
needs.
